Our Teachers

All of the teachers at Music Together With Miri are passionate about music - and more importantly about supporting your child's musical journey. During their classes, they create a fun, informal, musically rich social setting that supports the varied learning styles of both children and adults. All of our teachers have successfully completed the three-day Music Together® teacher training workshop developed by the Center for Music and Young Children®, Princeton, New Jersey and many have participated in Music Together’s Advanced Certification Program.

photo Liz Mulligan

Liz Mulligan discovered the Music Together program after moving to Maryland three years ago and enrolling in a parent/child class with her then 10 month old daughter. As both an educator and musician herself, Liz quickly became a strong believer in the philosophy and teaching design of the program, signing up for subsequent semesters, and now participates with both of her children. When the prospect arose to become a MT instructor herself, Liz jumped at the opportunity and went through the process to become a certified Music Together teacher. Liz is now very excited to share her love of the MT program through working with children and families to help create a musically rich experience both in the classroom and at home. Liz has a background as a theater major (music theater minor) in her undergraduate career and holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University. She also has several years of elementary classroom experience through the Teach For America program, earning a Master of Education in Curriculum and Design from National Louis University in the process. Prior to having children, Liz also ran educational, vocational and enrichment programming for Mercy Home for Boys and Girls (a therapeutic residential home for youth) in Chicago. As a vocalist, Liz has sung with the National Cathedral Society in Washington DC, and now cantors/sings regularly at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Clarksville.
